In Case You Missed It: Updated Exam User Interface (UI)
In September, we announced a series of updates to the Meazure Exam Platform’s UI. If you couldn’t attend the live demo and webinar on these updates, you can access the full video recording to watch at your convenience. Feel free to share the recording with your colleagues and bookmark it for future reference.
You can learn more about the UI updates in the Meazure Exam Platform and review a series of FAQs about it on this informational web page. As a reminder, our Customer Success team will reach out soon to discuss an appropriate timeline for enabling this new interface. No action is needed on your part, but feel free to contact your Customer Success representative or email the CS team if you have any questions.
Updates to the ProctorU Platform
Successful Migration to Stripe Payment Processor
We’re thrilled to confirm a successful migration to our new payment processor, Stripe, for the ProctorU Platform. Thanks to the hard work of our Engineering team, the platform was easily migrated without any impact for test takers. We’re excited to continue making investments and improvements like this across the business.
Chat Support Refinement
We recently analyzed our chat support processes to better understand how candidates access the chat feature and what their top questions or concerns are. These insights into the user experience will help us improve both our products and processes so we can continue providing stellar service.
Guardian Browser Connection Improvements
We’ve made updates to improve the user experience when a candidate is disconnected from the Guardian Browser. One of our recent improvements streamlines the chat reconnection between the proctor and candidate, with fewer steps for the candidate and less likelihood that they’ll need to switch to a different proctor.

Reminder: Updates to Our “Test It Out” Proctoring Feature
We updated our minimum technical requirements on November 15 to better prepare candidates for their proctoring sessions. These changes have been reflected in our support articles and the on-demand “Test It Out” service.
We’re committed to keeping technical requirements low without sacrificing exam security. However, with technology evolving, we believe it’s time to raise these minimums to ensure a smoother and more secure proctoring experience.
After thorough analysis, we believe these updates will reduce technical errors and positively impact candidates. Here’s how:
Update: Increase the required CPU Core count from 2 to 4.
Rationale: Over 97% of test-takers today connect to their proctoring sessions via computers that have 4 or more cores.
Update: Increase Internet bandwidth speed from 1 Mbps to 3 Mbps.
Rationale: In the US, the average internet speed exceeds 20 Mbps. Globally, the average internet speed exceeds 10 Mbps.
Update: Increase RAM capacity from 4 GB to 8 GB.
Rationale: 8 GB is what industry experts recommend for basic casual computing needs.
We highly encouraged candidates to test their equipment prior to their exam to help reduce technical issues and exam disruptions.
ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We perform monthly maintenance on the ProctorU Platform, using the time to implement vital performance and stability updates. During the scheduled windows, the platform will be completely offline, meaning no one will be able to log in. You can review the 2024 and 2025 maintenance schedule in our support center at any time.
Reminder: December Maintenance Window
Our next scheduled maintenance window on the ProctorU Platform is coming up on December 6, 2024, from midnight to 6:00 a.m. CT (UTC-06:00).
Don’t miss CNAR’s upcoming virtual discussion, “Hot Topics in Testing,” on December 4. Two members of our Assessment Development and Psychometrics team, Chris Beauchamp and Natasha Parfyonova, will join the panel to explore key trends and challenges in assessment, measurement, and psychometrics. Topics will include competency profile development, assessment of non-technical skills, and innovative applications of AI in testing. Register now!
We’ve seen an increase in proctoring sessions where applications that could be used for cheating, such as remote desktops and virtual machines, are sometimes renamed in an attempt to evade detection. The Guardian Browser allows our Security team to detect these applications even if they are renamed. The team quickly mitigates these risks and alerts the client if they’re detected during an exam. Our list of unpermitted applications has increased 83% this year due to the work of this team of security analysts.
Our proctoring professionalism is ensured through a rigorous hiring process that includes financial, employment, and criminal background checks, along with thorough skill assessments. We prioritize candidates with strong customer service backgrounds and college education or equivalent experience. In our controlled facilities, employees are monitored by supervisors, and security measures like uniforms and restricted devices prevent unauthorized content capture. We are committed to protecting both personal identification information and intellectual property.
