Recent Innovations in Remote Proctoring
Updated Pre-Check Process
Last month, we introduced two new steps in the remote proctoring pre-check process: a “Welcome” step and “Lobby” step. We’re excited to share that those two steps are active as of March 20. To learn more, please review the details from last month’s CS Digest.
Video Processor Enhancements
At the end of 2023, we upgraded our video processor to reduce error rates and improve bandwidth usage for users. So far, the new processor has resulted in a 15% improvement in video connections and a decrease in the amount of user bandwidth required.
Recent Innovations in the Meazure Exam Platform
Retest Forms
First announced in December 2023, the Meazure Exam Platform now provides the ability to create pools of retest forms and automatically assign them to candidates based on item “enemy” configurations and forms previously seen by each candidate. This new configuration—managed in the administrative portal under “Exam Shell Settings”—reduces the amount of coordination required to create multiple versions of exam forms.
Delivery Windows for Multimodal Exam Administration
As announced in December 2023, customers who administer exams through multiple modalities can now use a feature called Delivery Windows to centralize exam management and streamline candidate bookings within a single administration window. This enhancement fully integrates the Meazure Exam Platform with the scheduling systems for the ProctorU Platform and the Meazure Learning Test Center Network. It also supports program-managed test site bookings as well as event-based testing. To learn more, please reference this informational flyer.
Enabling this feature does require implementation work, and timelines could vary depending on complexity. If you’re interested in adopting the Delivery Window functionality for your exams, please reach out to your Customer Success rep or email us.
Exam User Interface Updates
At the end of last year, we released phase 1 of a new exam user interface (UI) for the Meazure Exam Platform, focusing on the presentation of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and exam tools like the image viewer and notes. The new UI can be controlled through the “Exam Shell Settings” and provides a more modern, intuitive, and accessible experience for candidates.
Upcoming Innovations in Remote Proctoring
Data Regionalization
In response to evolving customer needs, we are updating our data regionalization controls. Expected to be available in Q2, this functionality will allow customers to select which geographic region they want to store their exam session and program data in.
Integrated Chat
To improve the candidate experience, we are streamlining the proctor connection process within the Guardian Browser—eliminating the need for candidates to download a separate proctor chat applet as the “proctor chat” function will be built into the browser. This will simplify the exam launch process while reducing average start times. Nearing the end of its beta phase, this exciting new feature will soon be available globally. We will inform all customers about its activation, although no action will be required from program managers.
Guardian Browser Kiosk Mode
We are currently working to bring “Kiosk Mode” functionality to Live+ and Review+ exams launched through the Guardian Browser. When this feature is enabled in an exam, the Guardian Browser will go into full-screen mode, making it impossible for the candidate to access anything else on their computer until the exam is over. In addition to the existing exam security controls, this feature will be available to program managers and administrators at the same time as our integrated chat update.
Upcoming Innovations in the Test Center Network
We are expanding the Guardian Browser’s capabilities to support the Meazure Learning Test Center Network, making it the only secure browser needed to proctor exams at any of our test center sites. We expect this functionality to be available in Q3 of this year. Keep an eye on future editions of the Customer Success Digest for the latest updates.
