On March 13, we hosted an inaugural client event in the Washington D.C. area. Titled Engage D.C., the event was designed to connect local peers in the credentialing community and provide a forum for sharing best practices and collaborating on solutions to common challenges.
With all attendees rating the event as “Excellent” or “Very Good,” the topics discussed included:
Responding to pressure to increase certification revenue
Recruiting and retaining SMEs
Quantifying the value of certifications
Balancing the need for security with the test-taker experience
To those who joined us, thank you! Your energy, engagement, and insights made the event truly special. We're excited to keep the momentum going in other regions soon!
Many of our clients have requested additional video resources to help prepare test-takers for their remote proctoring experience with Meazure Learning. We’re excited to share three new videos created specifically for test-takers. These are currently included in the “Test-Taker Resources” section of the Customer Education Portal and will soon be available in existing support articles within our Test-Taker Library.
How to Test Your Equipment: A demonstration of how test-takers can use our “Test It Out” process to verify their system meets all the technical requirements before their exam
Common Test-Taker Challenges: A review of potential technical issues that may arise and proactive steps to prevent them
We hope these resources provide valuable support in preparing for a smooth and stress-free exam experience!
Updates to the ProctorU Platform
Exam Lobby Experience
We’ve made Exam Lobby improvements to display up-to-the-minute connection status information and messaging, so test-takers can more accurately understand wait times for their proctor connection and exam launch.
Additionally, if a test-taker is on the last step of exam pre-checks for ten minutes, their appointment status will now update to “Connection Timed Out,” automatically triggering a chat with our support team for further assistance.
Test It Out Improvements
This tool has been revamped to include helpful tips for test-takers who have experienced failed checks.
Additional Test-Taker Validation Upon Exam Entry
When a proctor provides the test-taker with a link to begin their exam, they will now be directed to verify their surname before proceeding to the pre-check process to ensure they are entering the correct exam.
Updates to the Meazure Exam Platform
External Resource Copy and Paste
We have developed a feature that improves the test-taker experience when external resources are allowed for essay items. With this tool, test-takers can navigate to the allowed external resource and easily copy large blocks of text into their essay responses during an exam. This allows the test-taker to use examples and cite references without having to re-type large blocks of copy. To preserve exam content security, all text copied to the clipboard will be automatically cleared upon starting and exiting an exam.
Paired with our recently added rich text formatting feature, test-takers have the tools to better structure and format their essay entries.
Note: Exam sponsors interested in enabling this functionality for test center delivery should reach out to the Guardian Browser team for assistance.

Refined Application Detection Protocols
We’ve changed how we detect certain remote-access applications like AnyDesk, TeamViewer, and UltraViewer. Previously, the presence of these applications triggered a “hard stop” that prevented the exam from launching until they were fully removed. This approach, while effective for security, often led to longer launch times and an increase in incident reports. With our latest update, these applications will only be flagged if they are actively connected during the exam. We expect this change to reduce incident reports and create a smoother, faster launch process for candidates—without compromising on security.
ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We perform monthly maintenance on the ProctorU Platform, using the time to implement vital performance and stability updates. During the scheduled windows, the platform will be completely offline, meaning no one will be able to log in. You can review the 2025 maintenance schedule in our support center at any time.
We've observed an increase in sessions in which applications that could be used for cheating—such as remote desktops and virtual machines—are renamed in an attempt to evade detection. The Guardian Browser allows our Security team to detect these apps even if they are renamed, allowing them to quickly mitigate risks and alert testing organizations if these types of applications are detected during an exam.
