As part of our ongoing initiative to be an educational resource for our clients, we created a webinar series earlier this year that was designed specifically for you. In April, we hosted the first webinar in this series, focusing on how our professional assessment and credentialing clients can avoid common test development traps. We’ll host the next webinar in just a few weeks, bringing together several in-house security experts from across the assessment life cycle to share their firsthand experiences with common test threats.
If you’re looking for even more webinar content, you’re in luck. The on-demand recording of our most recent webinar titled “Lessons in AI: The Credentialing Edition” just dropped. Access it now, bookmark it for later use, or share it with a colleague!
The following videos feature members of our Assessment Development and Psychometrics (ADP) team, who provide an overview of each topic and walk you through the critical steps involved.
Based on your feedback, we’ve updated the ProctorU Session Activity Report and the Cancellation Report to include exam price. We’ve also added a new field indicating the party responsible for payment (i.e., the candidate or the institution/client). We believe this additional data field will provide increased transparency as well as ease of invoice reconciliation. You can find tutorials for pulling this report in this support article. As always, we welcome your feedback!
Minimum Requirements for MacOS
The ProctorU Platform now requires MacOS 11 (Big Sur) or higher to successfully complete a session. Most Mac computers released in the last 10 years are compatible with this OS, so we expect minimal impact on test-takers. This update helps our platform stay current with the latest technology and ensure security for all users.
Updates to the Meazure Exam Platform
Now Available: Option to Delay the Release of Scores
This new feature gives administrators the option to delay the release of exam scores until a designated time. It can be configured by setting a timed interval at the administration level, determining when scores will be automatically released for each user. Ideal for rolling exam periods, this feature gives clients time to evaluate proctoring results and scoring anomalies while reducing the administrative effort required to release the results.
Coming Soon: New Item Types
We are currently developing two new item types: hotspot and drag and drop. The former is an interactive item type directing candidates to select a specified area of a displayed image. This type of item is especially useful in fields requiring spatial recognition and visual analysis. The latter item type, drag and drop, is also interactive and requires candidates to match answer options from a pre-defined set. This item type tests a candidate’s ability to order and organize information. It also supports a large number of distractors, which can be helpful when testing nuanced differences in content. Drag and drop items will be supported with different configurations, including customized tables, images, and more.
As part of this effort, we are also improving the item development interface. This phased rollout will ultimately deliver an enhanced item creation and management experience as well as access to more interactive item types for exams.

Ports and Allow List Requirements
Ensuring candidate technical readiness is critical to exam day success. Candidates who don’t have access to a personal computer should work closely with the IT department to proactively prevent any configuration issues that might block testing. To better support candidates and clients, we have made our required ports and allow list available in this support article. This page will be updated and maintained, so we recommend bookmarking it for future use.
ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We perform monthly maintenance on the ProctorU Platform, using the time to implement vital performance and stability updates. During the scheduled windows, the platform will be completely offline, meaning no one will be able to log in. You can review the 2024 maintenance schedule in our support center at any time.
Reminder: July Maintenance Window
Our next scheduled maintenance window on the ProctorU Platform is coming up on July 26, 2024, from midnight to 6:00 a.m. CT (UTC-06:00).
2025 ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We are pleased to share our 2025 maintenance schedule. Take a moment to review and make note of these dates accordingly.
Guardian Browser Pre-Exam Security Alerts
In early 2024, we further enhanced the browser’s security measures by adding a real-time alerting feature that notifies proctors of suspicious computer activity before exams start. To date, we’ve successfully intervened in over 4,000 sessions where remote desktop applications or screen-sharing/recording applications were suspected. This enhancement has led to increased exam security, fewer mid-exam interruptions, and greater test-taker satisfaction.
Customer Education Portal for the ProctorU Platform
Our Customer Education Portal for the ProctorU Platform is a great resource for those who are new to the platform or want a refresher on how it works.
