Improved Cancellation and Refund Experience for Clients Using E-Commerce
We are very excited to provide an improved cancellation and refund process for programs and candidates who use e-commerce solutions within the Meazure Exam Platform. This new workflow will allow candidates to cancel exams independently—without having to reach out to Support—within the cancellation guidelines of your program.
Additionally, candidates who cancel after making a purchase will see a message indicating that their refund request is being evaluated, along with a support ticket number for reference. This new workflow will streamline the processing of candidate refund requests while still adhering to each program’s unique cancellation and refund policies. As always, if you would like to review or customize cancellation or booking withdrawal rules, please reach out to your CSM or our CS team.
This new workflow provides a more consistent and informative candidate experience. If your program used custom text or messaging around cancellation workflows or would like to prevent cancellations within the platform, we recommend reviewing it and reaching out to the CS team for assistance.
Updates to the ProctorU Platform
Reminder: Minimum Requirements for MacOS
The ProctorU Platform now requires MacOS 11 (Big Sur) or higher to successfully complete a session. Most Mac computers released in the last 10 years are compatible with this operating system, so we expect minimal impact on test-takers. This update helps our platform stay current with the latest technology and ensure security for all users.
For more details about our current equipment requirements, check out our support article.
Updated Incident Reports
Meazure Learning’s turnaround time and notification process for incident reporting is industry-leading, and we are excited to continue enhancing this experience. Based on your feedback, we are updating the definitions and categories available within the ProctorU Platform. For example, incidents involving unpermitted software or virtual assistance will now be categorized as “prior to exam” or “during exam” to better indicate the security risk. We believe these adjustments will make incident reports more detailed and improve the ability to filter by category. All updates will be implemented by the end of August.
As a reminder, you can review the incident categories and definitions in our resource center here.
Ultrawide Monitor Support
Ultrawide monitors continue to gain popularity among candidates using remote online proctoring. We’ve enhanced the ProctorU Platform’s video capabilities to better capture the desktop streams of users with ultrawide monitors, specifically those with aspect ratios wider than 16:9. This improvement doesn’t affect the candidate experience, but it does allow proctors and test administrators to view the full desktop when reviewing exam session videos.
Reminder: Ports and Allow List Requirements
Ensuring candidate technical readiness is critical to exam day success. Candidates who don’t have access to a personal computer should work closely with the IT department to proactively prevent any configuration issues that might block testing. To better support candidates and clients, we have made our required ports and allow list available in this support article. This page will be updated and maintained, so we recommend bookmarking it for future use.
ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We perform monthly maintenance on the ProctorU Platform, using the time to implement vital performance and stability updates. During the scheduled windows, the platform will be completely offline, meaning no one will be able to log in. You can review the 2024 maintenance schedule in our support center at any time.
Reminder: August Maintenance Window
Our next scheduled maintenance window on the ProctorU Platform is coming up on August 23, 2024, from midnight to 6:00 a.m. CT (UTC-06:00).
2025 ProctorU Platform Maintenance Schedule
We are pleased to share our 2025 maintenance schedule. Take a moment to review and make note of these dates accordingly.
Using technology in the Guardian Secure Browser, our Security team frequently identifies collusion groups (“cheating rings”) using the same device. When we detect such suspicious activity, we notify the testing organizations of the suspected collusion. In 2023, we identified and took action against over 900 cheating rings. So far in 2024, we’ve detected over 350.
