Common Challenge: A number of technological problems could adversely impact the test-taker experience, such as Mac OS Catalina, CPU and memory overloads, the absence of a dual-band router, roommates or relatives using the Wi-Fi, and more. If we are unable to fix a problem, test-takers may have to reschedule their exam or re-connect from a different computer.
Tackling the Challenge: Make sure students test their equipment before their scheduled exam time. Test-takers can test their equipment directly in their ProctorU Platform account or via this link.
Common Challenge: To maintain exam integrity, we require test-takers to complete their proctoring session in a private space, such as a study room, workplace, or bedroom.
Tackling the Challenge: If a test-taker connects to their proctoring session in a public area, they will need to move to a private location before we can proctor their exam.
Common Challenge: A dropped connection during a proctoring session may occur if a test-taker's internet connection is erratic or weak. The test-taker may have to reschedule if they are unable to fix this problem.
Tackling the Challenge: To guarantee a robust broadband connection, we strongly advise test-takers to test the Wi-Fi they plan to use before their proctoring session.
Common Challenge: To maintain exam integrity and prevent exam content theft, we do not allow test-takers to speak aloud during a proctoring session.
Tackling the Challenge: We are aware that a test-taker may be allowed to speak during an exam in certain circumstances. To accommodate this, instructors must request approval with our Support team at least 72 hours before the test-taker's exam session. The accommodation request form can be found via this link.
Common Challenge: The exam start procedure for our Live+ and Review+ service lines may take 10 to 15 minutes. In the event that a technical problem arises, this process can take longer.
Tackling the Challenge: It's important to remember that the exam period does not start until the proctor enters the password. We recommend notifying your test-takers that a delayed exam start process won't cost them any exam time.
